Brown bag butterfly

Just a little something inspired by the never ending chaos that is the building site at the end of my garden

it will stop soon, or so I'm told...

a quote that kind of fits the bill right now

'There can be no defence like elaborate courtesy'

Edward Verrell Lucas

brown bag butterflies, I think I'm slowly becoming addicted

I sploshed a bit of colour on an old cigar box, the effect is a bit like a denim wash

ripped fabric, muslin and a lovely strip of rusty fabric from Halle

complete the look

I think this is going to be one of my favs!

Brilliant button trim on the bottom of this lovely creation too M!

I think there is a lot to be said for courtesy...there is conjecture here in the states that civility has gone out the window...say it ain't so :)

your butterfly punch must be a good one...that's a lotta pretty butterflies!

Happy September dear one!

Margaret!
So glad you've found a bit of time to craft :-)
Both your butterfly projects are fabulous, love the way you've positioned the quote and your button stash on the bottom!
Happy return of school :-)
Maybe if you make enough butterflies they could carry away the builders like the birds carried off the peach in James and the Giant Peach?

I can't begin to imagine how I missed this lovely piece. Butterflies are flying in from every direction, and I really like the addition of the buttons, too. Glad I looked back to this post.
