Seth over at http://thealteredpage.blogspot.com/ is running a 'Buried Treasure' event today where he's asked Bloggers to feature their fav posts. Mine is called courage and is a canvas I did back in Februry this year. The original post can be found here http://aliceandcamilla.blogspot.com/2009/02/courage.html
Amazing creation by your talented hands and the story of your 'courage' gives me goose bumps of the very best kind = beautiful M!
It IS beautiful! You need to hang it.
Wow! That is a beautiful piece!
Hello again Margaret! Ooooh another amazing creation! Do you think now is maybe the time to place that butterfly of yours? I know about courage...It had to come to me last year when I gave birth to my first child. What I found out about Courage is that it is sometimes something we have to just dig up from goodness knows where when we are at our weakest and most vulnerable point.
I love the words you use to describe the context in which courage lies - strength and patience. Both my come in order for courage to exist.
Thanks for this posting - I totally get it! I am so glad we have met. Yay Seth!!
PS. email me your address and I'll get cracking. (No rush for you to reply - ok! I know you're busy.)
Oh - this is a novella now! Lol! But I've still got one last thing ot say, I found my small canvases curled up too - I had to hold them down fast initially with my fingers until the glue got tacky enough to hold them on their own. Try putting a weight on them or back them with firmer card. No doubt you've already figured that out...but I'm a bit of a pedagogue as you will have found out on my repost!
Yes, I agree this is a great piece! thanks for the greating on my blog. I hope you have a good summer!
absolutely wonderful work! so glad I found you on the BT tour!
Margaret, I can see why this piece is a favorite of yours. I love all the textures and colors you used.
"All in Good Time" --seems appropriate that you "dug up" this "treasure". Looks like its time is "now"!
Great post, so many of us can relate. Love the artwork.
thank you so much for sharing this treasure - I love what you wrote in the first post and adore the still un-hung canvas - the colors are wonderful and I simply like it very much.
the first thing i thought ...after beautiful..isn't she clever finding a "timely piece" for "the past" them of the dig
gorgeous use of color! backgrounds and textures!
This is the first time I've been to your blog and this repost is simply unbelievable. The textures, the images, and the courage to explore your own courage all come together to create a powerful piece.
This is a gorgeous piece. One that I would love to see in person. The softness of the colors, the layering of the cards/papers, the lettering, the stitching! It all comes together so well. Get it on the wall!!! LOL! Glad you decided to join in and repost this!
I love the piece. Thanks for sharing.
I love your heart going stomping... around here he slams doors a lot, the world of girls not cooperating with him, not that there will ever be one good enough... and the work is sumptuous, I wish I could actually see it I have a feeling it is even more stunning in real life!
A really nice piece. Thanks for sharing it.
