Welcome to Dress Up in July!
with summer sun and fun in mind I'm afraid I've reverted to type this month! I just can't get enough of those blues and greens! I began my dress with a water colour crayon background to which I added paper scraps and acrylics.
I also used the paua shell again, I love the myriad of colours in these tiny pieces
my beach babe was meant to be looking at something but nothing I tried looked quite right (incuding a big fish!) so I'll leave it up to you to decide just what's on her mind...
I finished the whole dress with wax which gives it an added dimension and really brings out the colours. I still haven't quite mastered the technique as well as I'd like and I think it's going to be another one for me and my good friend You Tube!
Once again a super big thank you to all of you still playing along, I love visiting your Blogs every month and apart from the odd blip here and there I hope all my comments are getting through. I'll draw a name from the June entries for the NZ dress tomorrow evening and will post the winner on my Blog. Have fun dressing your best this month!
I think she's taken with some very handsome guy who has just whistled at her!!
Another very nice dress!!
What fun this is!
I so love the way your dresses tell a story, and this one is no different. Your use of vintage sheet music that looks like rocks shooting up out of the ocean is brilliant. I can almost feel the waves on my feet. I think this darling beach babe found the perfect spot for a picnic and is happily waiting for her friends to join her.
Thanks again for being such a wonderful host to this awesome project.
I started just this past week to try and finish for the June dress...I will try to get it done tomorrow, as I am off work. I will have obviously a better time for the July project! Love your July dress!
I agree with Carole...she is enjoying being admired!!!

It's a beautiful dress! I just have one question. Did you have to look up the word myriad?
So beautiful as always! I'm quite partial to blues and greens myself and I love the way you used these colors to create a feeling of water. Oooo and the wax finish...I might have to try that sometime! Thanks again for sharing and hosting.
