Welcome to Dress Up in August!
...and then there were eight! haven't we come a long way?! only four more and our wardrobes will be complete.
This month's dress happened rather easily as August 1st is the Swiss National Day.
I used an Edelweiss paper serviette, this flower is the unofficial national flower of Switzerland and can be found growing in The Alps. I added a little piece of paper doily around the neckline and some braid to the bodice.
I decorated some of the Edelweiss with beads and used a folded mini version of a Zürich newspaper as the skirt.

Once again I was awake when I saw your post of your dress. I really like how they all look together, all the same size and shape. And this month's is adorable. So wonderful and appropriate that you paid homage to Swiss National Day today.
You have really nailed all the details on this dress, from the Edelweiss design to the braided bodice, not to mention the Zurich newspaper in miniature. This is one special dress for both Switzerland and your "model."
i love it Margaret, its a lovely serviette and perfect for your national dress... cant believe there arent many to go...
Wow, I agree with Bleubeard and Elizabeth!!! My August dress will be late...and I haven't even started the catch up part! Yikes!

Oh Margaret,
Your dress is beyond beautiful!!! I LOVE it!!! And guess what? I finished ALL my dresses last night for Jan-June and have them posted on my sidebar...(The pictures are little so you can't see the detail, but I was excited to show them to you.) There I was on a Saturday night telling my husband I couldn't go out because I had dresses to make! How funny!
Your dresses are so detailed it is amazing!!! True works of art!

P.S. I am having a monthly challenge that begins next Sunday...I'd love it if you'd show a dress and invite people to make dresses in case they haven't heard of your Dress Up 2010.

Hi Margaret,
Thanks so much for popping over to visit. I was so anxious to get those pics up on my sidebar, but the colors aren't how they look in person...I think I'll have to see if re-taking the photos helps at all. Have a great summer!
