Hello! and Happy New Year! I think the less said about the half of January that's already passed me by the better!! anyway, I hope 2011 is treating you well! I've set myself a new challenge this year and that is to keep an art journal and not give up after two pages! I should say at this point that I don't like my handwriting but with help and plenty from lovely You Tube I will succeed (at least by the end of the year!) I don't want to write a lot, just the odd word here and there to compliment my art.
I didn't trust myself on this and stamped it! the rest will be written if and when...
another page and another writing challenge which I've so far managed to avoid!
Today I went out and bought a small sketch book to practice in! I'll lay down a bit of colour and get writing, EVERY DAY! no really, I will...

Happy New Year to you too dear Margaret!
So nice to see you're back - I popped in a few days ago and missed you!!
I was trying to remember what your challenge was this year!
Your art journal is exquisite, love the soft feminine feel about it. I know you will do it everyday, as you did with your 'page a day' a while back.
I'm missing the 'dress-up"!!!!
Hugs

That is so beautiful and I lobe your color combination. Is that paint or chalk in the background? I hate my handwriting, too, but just signed up forna journal class. I plan on lots of collage, letter stamps and print from the computer!
Fondly,
Suz
Beautiful pages Margaret... love those backgrounds and images... good for you setting yourself an everyday challenge... I love it too :)))

These pages are fantastic! The colors, texture and depth are amazing.
haha, i started on jan 1 and did 2 days ;)
yours is very beautiful....
They rescued the horses too, quite a few cuts but they will be ok...
Love this !!!
Beautiful! The writing IS the hard part. I like to draw lines and then just print between them..totally filling the space.
Your journal pages look absolutely beautiful Margaret! The beauty of art journals is that sometimes we can convey emotion and feeling just through our images and without many words. I am sure you will find your written voice for the journal soon! I am experimenting some with an Art Journal this year as well.
fantastic pages M, just love the heart theme of course!!
you are off to an fantastic start dear M!
I agree about the writing...I end up with quotes quite often...that is the beauty of visual journals or journals of any kind I guess...it's yours and you do what you please
it always pleases me very much to see what you're creating!

Good for you Margaret! Your pages are beautiful!!!! The writing will come, it took me weeks to write on my pages but once you have done it then you are off! Remember that no-one else has to see it so you can write what flows! Have fun! HUGS XXX
I love the colors and textures happening on your heart page. Your couple is lovely too. Doing something daily is hard! I am already faltering (missed yesterday and today is not looking promising). I am not giving up though! Don't you either (I know where you live to drop by for some butt kicking!) :)
I have challenged myself to... started a new journal for the year - must have an entry each week! I already missed last week but am on it this week! Good Luck!
cheers, dana
Beautiful pages Margaret!
Love the colouring and the images you have chosen.
I don't like my handwriting on my artwork either,I cheat and use alpha stamps or computer printed quotes!!

These are amazing first pages. I don't like my handwriting, either, and it's pretty obvious when I journal. However, I love your pages. They are stunning!
Great challenge, love the start you've made :)
I ,ove what you have created so far Margaret
Good luck for every day journalling - the progress so far is just lovely. Inspires me :-)
Oh this is beautiful! You sound like me! I work in mine when I can, when I'm not sidetracked by all that other art I do. :D
